Since April, 2025, the National Agency for Green Revolution, in collaboration with the donor organization MCC Bangladesh, has been implementing the “Multilingual Education Program in Mother Tongue” for ethnic minority children. This program is active in the Godagari, Tanore, Nachole, and Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazilas of the Rajshahi district.
Ethnic minority children often fall behind in the mainstream education system due to language barriers. To prevent this, reduce school phobia, facilitate their entry into mainstream education at the appropriate age, and prevent dropouts, we foster a habit of school attendance by providing instruction in their mother tongue. Over a two-year period, children are taught in their native language alongside Bengali. Once prepared, they are transitioned into mainstream schools. These schools primarily cater to children aged 3-5 years. In addition to teaching, awareness discussions are held with indigenous youth to promote the practice of their own language and the preservation of their culture.
